This Unix Engineer role will install, maintain, and provide 24x7 system
support for UNIX system software and hardware with the primary focus on IBM
AIX and Oracle Sun. Technical Engineer Senior role will analyze and
evaluate customer requirements characterized by technical and analytical
requirements. Strong collaboration with Security Administrators, Middleware
Administrators, Capacity Planning & Monitoring, Service Desk, and
Network Administrators when designing and implementing computer systems utilizing
"state of the art" concepts, techniques and languages.
Responsible for planning, developing, testing and documenting computer
systems and follow up to ensure success of the UNIX environment.
Required experience:
1. Power 6, 7 hardware experience
2. Solaris 8, 9, 10 experience
3. AIX virtualization experience in a dual VIO configuration
4. Experience with NIM, HMC, NPIV, vSCSI, and SEA
5. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field and
3 years of experience to include leading UNIX activities, or 7 years of
experience in lieu of a degree.
