Business Analyst (2 positions being hired)
The following request is for two contract
resources for the Core System Project to assist with data cleanup, conversion,
reporting requirements, documenting workarounds and testing. These are new positions not currently staffed.
Approximately 172 hours projected for FY12. 2000
hours projected for FY13 and 1000 hours
projected for FY14. The successful candidate will be a
self-starter, and requires a person who is detail oriented. Candidate
must be able to work both independently and as a team member to produce on time
results to meet all project deadlines.
Candidate must have proven experience to perform the following
duties:
Data Clean Up
Ø
Assist in
identifying the data clean-up opportunities; identify method to clean-up the
data; define the estimated time frame for manual clean up and identify the
skills/resources required to extract and correct the data.Ø Communicate with the appropriate departments to correct the data prior to the conversion.
Ø Help manage the clean-up process with the different areas, validating data has been corrected and is ready for conversion.
Ø Review final products.
Identify
Offline workarounds
Ø
Assist in
interviewing departments to identify all Access, Excel, SharePoint or
other workarounds that have been developed to accomplish their daily tasks.Ø Work with the software vendor to determine how the identified workarounds will be addressed in the Core System.
Identify
System Workarounds
Ø
Assist in
interviewing departments to identify workaround processes that have been
developed to accomplish their daily tasks. This includes all known system
interfaces or individual interfaces employees have created to accomplish their
duties. Items such as – audit upload, etc.Ø Work with the software vendor to determine how the identified workarounds will be addressed in the Core System.
Identify Reports
(current vs. needed)
Ø
Assist in
interviewing departments identifying existing reports. Document how
reports are utilized, if they contain all the information needed and whether
any reports can be combined and or eliminated.Ø Identify where report data is housed, how often updated.
Ø Identify report frequency– weekly, monthly, daily (real time/on demand reporting).
Conversion
Ø Assist with business data mapping from legacy system to the Core
System application.
Ø Assist in writing business specifications for conversion programs.
Ø Assist in conversion testing and validation.
Testing
Ø Assist in writing system verification test scripts
Ø Assist in test script execution and verification.
Ø Support the identification and documentation of test defects.
