MUST BE VCP/RHCSA CERTIFIED WITH 5+ YEARS USING SOLARIS 2.8 and RH 5.0 ON VMWARE SYSTEMS.
Overview:
The Linux System Administrator will create, administer, integrate, support, and maintain Redhat Linux based environment. Will DO REMOTE SYSTEM ADMIN-Consultant is a dedicated RedHat Linux admin utilizing VMware systems. The Red Hat Linux administrator will be expected to interface and work closely with system administrators of Solaris and Linux operating systems, and the end user community to define problems and solutions and make recommendations.
Requirements:
Must have 5+ of Linux administrations (SOLARIS 2.8 & REDHAT 5.0)- skills in an enterprise environment including:
Plan and implement system changes and adjustments in a way that maximizes system availability
Evaluating and reporting system performance
Assistance in developing test plans, gathering performance data during testing and analysis of results to assist in developing a production architecture for the application.
perform configuration management, risk analysis and contingency planning and work with designated security staff to assist in performing security reviews and audits.
Provide support for the blade server hardware and various software tools used within the client to continue to migrate servers to Linux and blade servers.
Ensuring hardware limits are not exceeded
Performing system configuration tasks
Performing documentation tasks
Ensuring proactive management and quality assurance
Processing and resolving customer support service requests
Providing ongoing support and administration of Linux servers and applications that reside on those servers :
User management
Patching
Network configuration
Performance tuning
Participate in product deployments, upgrades & maintenance.
Maintain the patch levels of all OS and application patches on all systems.
Support third party applications on products used in support of corporate mission critical systems.
Preferred Current Certifications:
VMware Certified Professional (VCP) certified
Red Hat Certified Systems Admin (RHCSA) certified
Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization.
