- The candidate should be expert in the development of ETL design and development of ETL graphs stored procedures, scripts, technical best practices for data movement, data quality, data cleansing and other data movement related activities.
- Provide strong technical knowledge of Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) solutions in AbInitio; must have strong technical knowledge of RDBMS databases and be proficient in MS- SQL experience such as in , MS SQL Servers T-SQL, batch SQL, etc. Working knowledge of at least one or more database platforms including Oracle (10G and/or 11G, IBM UDB/Db/2.
- Proficient in defining workflows and error processing, utilizing parallel processing features in AbInitio and expertise in stored procedure created to transform some data, when needed from an appropriate place in ETL. Proficient in the use the logging/notifications capabilities of AbInitio as well as scheduling features of Autosys. Proficient in different loading strategies such as reloads, partial loads, etc.
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to clearly articulate ETL design patterns and solution implementation, options and advise of best practices for a given situation or environment.
- Must be a team player with ability to directly liaise with the Business Analysts, Data Base Analysts, and Architects on all design and development activities.
- Ability to do data movement development independently and manage own workload
Other Experience:
- Ability to develop and test scripts and programs/web applications/web services required to support the data movement process in an ESB/SOA environment. (Data Stage or Ab Initio or Informatica.)
- Serve as the Designer and provide documentation (workflows, functional specifications, data models, etc.) of all data movement processes involving large scale data warehouses, data marts, Enterprise EDW efforts.
- Work closely with QA manager and QA team as well as related stakeholders to ensure that the end to end designs meet the business and data requirements via rigorous testing procedures and use cases.
- Perform checkpoints/reviews on designs and code being created by the ETL development team.
