Job Purpose & Responsibilities

Job Purpose: The Consumer Electronics Film SDL position is responsible for growing the Specialty Film business in the Western Region of the United States--focusing on the Top OEM’s, Tier One Integrators and Fabricators. This role will be responsible for delivering new business specifications as well as Specialty Film Top Line sales growth with SF&S; Focus Grade Film products. The SF&S; Consumer Electronics Film Sales Development Leader’s key responsibilities will include: Establishing account plans to grow Lexan Film Sales at the Top OEM’s (Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, Apple Computer, SONY and other Consumer Electronics Companies in the Western Region, Develop a Target List of High Impact Applications/Targets, Train our Distributor Partners on the new products designed for the CE Industry, and coordinate the Technical activities to ensure the appropriate product positioning in the CE market Segment. This individual will work closely with a few select Distributors/Converters to ensure the proper fulfillment and fabrication requirements meet the OEM/Tier One needs. In addition, this position will work very closely with SCM to recommend the appropriate Inventory Programs are in place to support New Business Closes for new and active programs at the key Tiers/Converters in the North American Market. This role will require an extensive amount of application development and expertise in driving New Business Closes at these important Global OEM’s/Integrators by positioning SABIC’s Film portfolio for both new and existing applications. This role will be measured by Target Build, Sales to New Closes and by year over year Sales growth at these Major OEM’s/Fabricators in the Consumer Electronics Focus Grade Products. This role will work very closely with the Product Market Leaders, Key OEM’s and Distributor/Fabricators, as well as the Global Industry Marketing Teams in both the Pacific and European Poles.

Responsibilities:

  • Grows and Delivers Core and Focus Grade Film Volume within the Consumer Electronics and Business Equipment Market Segment.

  • Builds a Target List of New Programs/Projects by Leveraging internal functional support such as Product Marketing, Technical Service, Inside Sales, Pricing, Supply Chain and Manufacturing critical to delivering value to the market.

  • Drives and supports continuous commercial process improvement across the value chain …. From Manufacturing through to the ultimate customer/user.

  • Effectively drives growth and knowledge sharing of SABIC Film Products through the various OEM’s, Fabricators as well as Specific Conversion Center Locations developing new application closes.

  • Develops a Market Strategy for the North American Market Segment along with Product Management which takes into account: Industry Trends, Competitive Analysis and Growth Plans through Product and Application Development.

  • Builds strong working relationships with both high level Consumer Electronics OEM Manufacturers as well as key Tier Ones/Integrators--with the various functional teams in Design, Engineering and Sourcing.

  • Understands and articulates Key Customer Requirements, and is able to translate those requirements to the business in order to drive incremental sales growth in FG Film products measured on a year over year sales goal.

  • Consolidates, collects and analyzes comprehensive information on the Consumer Electronics Industry: Proposing plans which drive Lexan Film growth, NPI’s and service needs in order to develop a competitive advantage in the market along with our channel partners and converters.

  • Provides Consumer Electronics Film Product Training to the Sales, Marketing and Supply Chain Teams of the SF&S; Organization in order to more fully integrate the SABIC-IP team and to ensure the SF&S; Value Proposition is well understood.

  • Works closely with the SABIC Industry Market and the Resin Application Development team members to leverage relationships and understand new product platforms being introduced from the OEM’s to the market.

  • Develops understanding of Product Margin expectations, by utilizing the TVC tool in order to maximize volume and manage costs (balancing both customer and internal needs).

  • Works closely with the other Film SDL’s in the Americas and across the poles to insure translation of best practices as well as new closes and targets.

Requirements

  • BS in Business or Engineering, MBA preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Required in role for full competence: 3 plus years

  • Prior: 5-10 years sales/application development experience

  • Very good interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills

  • Extensive market and product knowledge—previous materials business experience

  • Account Management/Strong Problem Solving skills

  • Market Development Aptitude

Minimum Requirements

The ideal candidate must have:

Demonstrated knowledge to operate and perform required duties using Logistics Information System (LIS) Central Issue Facility Installation Support Module(CIF ISM) normally approved office computer automation equipment. Must have and can demonstrate the ability to type a minimum of 25 wpm on normal business automation equipment.

Ability to understand and use safety items and personal protective equipment (PPE) that is mandatory and actively supports the EHS safety program. Must be able to operate forklift.

Must be a US Citizen or US permanent resident for more than 3 years in order to obtain NACI and CAC Card eligibility.

Performs other duties and additional duties as required.

SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITY:
