Job Description:
 
We are looking for a technical PeopleSoft programmer analyst for a 16 weekassignment to help us out with support work.
 
 We recently upgraded our PeopleSoft HCM systemto version 9.1, and have redesigned a select  customizations to utilizeapplication engine technologies.
 
We are using PeopleSoft v 9.1 HR, Base Benefits andPayroll modules.
 
PeopleTools 8.5.1
 
35 hour work week
 
JobSummary: 
 
The PeopleSoft Programmer Analyst primaryresponsibility will be to provide production support for PeopleSoft HRMS. Supportwill involve the maintenance, troubleshooting and development of applicationmodules and interfaces. Position requires strong written and oral communicationskills and the ability to work with business functional users to comprehendbusiness requirements for system development and modifications.Responsibilities will include the design, development and unit testing of smallto medium project work. The ideal candidate will have a “can do” attitude andthe ability to make pragmatic and practical decisions without compromising theintegrity of the PeopleSoft application.
 
EssentialJob Functions: 
 
Useof PeopleSoft 8.9 or higher (9.1 preferred) and PeopleTools 8.5.1 or higher toperform enhancements, fixes and customizations to our PeopleSoft application,provide production support, and develop reports for end users. Candidate willwork with end users to understand requirements in order to design technicalsolutions that are in line with business needs while staying consistent withthe application architecture. 
 
Maintain PeopleSoft systems by performing PeopleSoftrequired system updates and maintenance on a periodic basis.
 
Must be technically oriented (good problem solving andtroubleshooting skills), excellent communication skills (both written and verbal),self motivated and self directed, good multi-tasking skills, quality oriented,flexible, and committed to successful on-time completion of tasks.
 
Duties include, but are not limited to: 
 
- Performmaintenance and development work in a manner that is consistent with companystandards and procedures; 
 
- Gatherrequirements, design, build and test of production fixes and enhancements perclient specifications; 
 
- Createrequested documentation supporting system code, design and testing; 
 
- Downloadand apply PeopleSoft delivered fixes, bundles, maintenance packs and taxupdates released by PeopleSoft. 
 
- Re-applycustomization in conjunction with application patches and tools upgrades. 
 
- Reporttime and progress as requested by project manager and/or project lead 
 
 Required Knowledge,Abilities and Skills essential to Job Functions: 
 
- 5+ years Technical PeopleSoft HRexperience with SQL, SQR, PeopleTools, PeopleCode, PS/Query, Datamover,Application Engine and Change Assistant 
 
- 5+ years experience using SQL 
 
- Demonstrated experience developingapplication customizations, interfaces and reports 
 
- Ability to logically troubleshoottechnical problems. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. 
 
- Strong programming skills andtechniques and a good understanding of relational databases 
 
- Understanding of the systemsdevelopment life-cycle 
 
- Ability to learn and support newapplication processes and/or procedures 
 
- Ability to effectively andefficiently manage work and maintain focus on assigned tasks 
 
- Ability to consistently followthrough on assigned tasks and meet deadlines 
 
- Must have strong writing skillsand be able to create technical design documents, unit test scripts, etc. 
 
- Proven success in contributing toa team-oriented environment 
 
- Proven ability to work creativelyand analytically in a problem-solving environment 
 
- Strong verbal and writtencommunication skills 
 
- Strong focus on quality andcustomer satisfaction 
 
- Both self-disciplined andself-motivated 
 
- Demonstrated ability to workeffectively with end-users, technical team members and management. 
 
- Working knowledge of MicrosoftWindows products (Excel, Word, Access)
