Role: Network Admin.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Assists in the planning and design and also implements networked systems, including configurations,

supporting/troubleshooting  network problems and coordinating with vendors for installation of such items as routers,

bridges, concentrators  and switches. Conducts feasibility studies on strategic and tactical plans, design of

digital/analog networks, and  evaluation of network services/technology for current and future network development.

Performs complex technical  analysis of software, hardware, and network systems, systems integration for

front-end processors, multiplexes, LAN/WAN communications, network nodes, switches, and various

transmission systems

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Accountable for the day-to-day operations, support and management of the information networks that support the business of  Medical Center IS.

 Conducts analysis, prepares reports, and works on project implementations.

Defines network business requirements and implements effective campus network strategies.

Ensures that network solutions are secure and maximizes the sharing of applications, information, and resources across the hospital.

Coordinates with multiple vendors/departments to procure network-related hardware, software, and services.

Investigates and resolves problems, inefficiencies, and performance issues.

Contributes to technical roadmap and technical support policies based on hospital business need.

Works with the Network Manager and Chief Solution Architect to evaluate emerging network technologies.

Schedules and coordinates installation and maintenance of standard software/hardware on the network

and ensures compatibility  of all communications and computer hardware/software.

Provides ongoing information to leadership, customers, and peers regarding health of the environment,

enhancements, innovations and secure network solutions.

Monitors network to ensure its availability.

Creates and maintains network documentation

Provides 24 by 7 rotating on-call support

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Advanced testing and analytical skills as they relate to network elements.

Ability to establish network priorities as they relate to the hospitals’ connectivity requirements

Ability to understand the hospital business and criticality of network availability on patient care..

Advanced network troubleshooting skills.

Hands-on experience with network hardware devices running Cisco IOS.

Hands-on Experience in network design, deployments and remote troubleshooting skills

Working knowledge Cisco ASA Firewall

Hands-on experience in TCP/IP Networking, Routing, Switching, Unicast, Multicast, MPLS, QoS, BGP, EIGRP, Security, Mobility, DHCP, AAA, DNS, VPN, VTP, Spanning Tree, SNMP, SSH, Trunking, Ether Channel etc.,

Hands-on experience with network hardware devices running Cisco IOS.

Hands-on Experience in network design, deployments and remote troubleshooting skills

Cisco ASA Firewall

Enterprise Wireless knowledge, Aruba specific knowledge a plus

Creative thinking for network solutions within IS projects .

Advanced understanding of WAN/LAN internetworking design elements, protocol interoperability,

network architecture development, and requirements for testing/proof  of concept.

Mentoring and instruction of lower skilled level network resources.

Organizational ability to assemble data, prepare reports, monitor progress, and analyze data.

Ability to use protocol analyzers and network test equipment.

Presentation and communication skills to effectively present ideas and results.

 EXPERIENCE:

6-8 years relevant experience
