Title: Lead Systems Engineer, Lead Database Administration

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Duration: 18 months +

Job Summary:

This engineer will have overall technical infrastructure direction for the DB2 Data Warehouse at Prime by partnering with management, peers, and customers. Ideal candidate should have broad Data Services experience in healthcare or insurance industries with exposure to regulatory requirements (PHI, PCI, SAS 70).

Responsibilities:

·         Represent Data Services team in technical design and estimating sessions with internal and external IT customers.

·         Member of team providing 24 x 7 on-call support to maintain .9999 availability;

·         Provide security compliant database controls and reporting;

·         Provide support for logical and create and maintain physical database design;

·         Provide performance tuning and database optimization;

·         Assist developers in creating and fine tuning query statements;

·         Follows project management methodology in all phases of work performed.

·         Analyzes and recommends database changes to improve efficiency, lower costs, and enhance the quality of business applications;

·         Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent

·         8+ years extensive technical experience in a variety of IS areas, including:

·         6+ years DBMS;

·         2+ year systems analysis.

·         2+ years of physical database modeling

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Prior experience architecting and implementing DB2

·         Enterprise Data Warehouse

·         Prior experience creating physical database models in

·         Infosphere Data Architect

·         Prior experience architecting and implementing Oracle DBMS a plus

·         Written and verbal English proficiency is essential.

·         Experience giving presentations to leadership;

·         Expert understanding of computer software and hardware;

·         Attention to detail for disaster recovery planning and testing;
