Position Summary:

The Developer is respons ible for leading the design, development, testing, debugging, maintaining a nd documenting software components in accordance to Software Development Li fe Cycle (SDLC) best practices. The Developer has overall responsibility in the technical design process. Leads and participates in the applicat ion technical design process and completes estimates and work plans for des ign, development, implementation, and rollout tasks. The Developer also communicates with the appropriate teams to ensure that assignments are deli vered with the highest of quality and in accordance to standards. The De veloper strives to continuously improve the software delivery processes and practices.

 

The Data Integration tea m is at the center of many of the client92s processes and applications. This allows team members to interact with business and IS&S associates across the organization. Data Integration also provides data feeds to m any additional Kroger applications as well as a host of third party vend ors.< /span>

 

Current tools and techno logies used by the team include Ab Initio, AIX/Unix, Unix Shell Scripting, Tivoli Workload Scheduler (TWS), Connect Direct, SQL Scripting/Stored Proce dures, Databases (DB2, Oracle)

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

Suppor t or enhance the ETL(Extract-Transform-Load) processes in Information Deliv ery.

Build partnerships across the application, business and infrastructure teams.

Develo p programming specifications. Design, code and unit test application cod e using Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices.

Comple te estimates and work plans with the assistance of more senior team members as appropriate for design, development, implementation and rollout tasks.< /span>

Create technical system documentation and ensure that this documentation remains current throughout all phases of the SDLC.

Commun icate with the appropriate teams to ensure that assignments are managed app ropriately and that completed assignments are of the highest quality.

Suppor t and maintain applications utilizing required tools and technologies. P rovide support for applications, including involvement with the Support Cen ter, NOC, Infrastructure teams, and vendors as appropriate. Provide off- hours support (24 x 7) as required.

May as sist other personnel on assignments including mentoring or providing on-the -job training to more junior associates.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Bachel or92s degree in IS or related equivalent work experience in an Information Systems position.

4 96 6 years experience in systems analysis, design or programming and the assoc iated development methodologies (Ab Initio, Informatica or DataStage).

Proven communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate informati on to customers and to all levels within the organization.

Abilit y to interact well in a team environment.

Passin g score on a selected entry test for new hires. (Test selected based on Project requirements.)

 

Desired Previous Job Experience

4 - 6 years experience in systems analysis, design or pr ogramming and the associated development methodologies (Ab Initio, Informat ica or DataStage) with medium size or medium level complexity projects.< /span>

Prior experience with project planning with medium size or medium level complexit y projects.
