Job Description : B7 The Senior Oracle Database Administrator is responsible for designing, installing, and supporting Oracle databases and related functionality, providing the highest possible performance, availability, an d security. B7 Sirius XM92s Oracle Databases are key components of our se rvice to over 20 million subscribers. B7 This individual will be part of a dynamic team of skilled architects and administrators, managing existing database deployments, plan ning enhancements, and driving value through vision and execution.
Duties and Responsibilities: B7 Performance of Oracle database administration tasks includi ng daily checks, configuration management, backup/recovery, performance optimization, and space management B7 Maintenance of multiple databases running Oracle 10g/11g on Solaris and Linux platforms. B7 Provide 24 x 7 x 365 support through on-call rotation. Page r duty is required. B7 Participate in database infrastructure/future-state design planning and implementation. Understand upcoming software development and p lan related database-changes. B7 Be a part of our dynamic team of Oracle Database Administra tors. Cross-train and instruct other DBAs on specializes skills/training, learn f rom our experts, divide and concur projects.
Minimum Qualifications: B7 Bachelor92s degree in related field preferred. A combinati on of education, technical training/certification, and relevant experience that i s equivalent to 10 years overall working experience will be considered in lie u of an undergraduate degree. B7 Requires 5-10 years experience in information technology, w ith at least 5 years experience managing Oracle databases
Requirements and General Skills: Technical Skills B7 Must be hands-on, technically adept DBA, capable of perform ing required DB tasks. B7 Deep knowledge with Oracle 10g/11g databases, strong RAC/clustering experience, RMAN, and Data Guard experience required. B7 Must demonstrate proficiency in UNIX and be able to adminis ter Oracle databases running in Solaris and RHEL. B7 Strong troubleshooting/performance tuning skills required. Must be able improve SQL performance results through use of hints or outlines. Abil ity to diagnose problems and triage/resolve issues across various tiers (application, network, database, server, or storage tiers). B7 Ability to implement automation to reduce manual administra tive tasks through use of jobs, shell scripts, PL/SQL, cron, or other techniques . B7 Preference towards candidates with Oracle Enterprise Pack experience 96 Golden Gate, Database Vault, Audit Vault, AES Security/Encry ption. B7 Knowledge of the Oracle BRM is a plus. B7 Functional/Management Skills B7 Strong commitment to following SDLC/Change-Management princ iples B7 Self starter and be able to perform work with minimal super visory direction B7 Knowledge of data quality, data management and data testing strategies and practices B7 Strong Oral and written skills. Able to communicate efficie ntly and effectively to technical and non technical audiences. B7 Anticipate and handle critical situations. B7 Ability to thrive in change.
