Role: Websphere / Tomcat Administrator
Location: Dallas: TX
Duration: 3 Months + and likely extension
This is more than an a WebSphere or Apache Tomcat Administrator,
this is an Engineer position. Candidates must understand WebSphere and Tomcat
internals and be able to communicate that knowledge during a face-to-face
interview.
This is not part of a large team, this job will mean being the lead on your own projects with only vendor support and architecture guidance.
In addition to the requirements for general WebSphere and Apache Tomcat experience, candidates MUST HAVE at least one full year of WebSphere ND and Apache Tomcat hands on experience.
• Knowledge on multi-tier web architecture and understand end to end traffic flow.
• Good understanding on J2EE containers, middleware, clustering, load balancing, Unix(Linux), network components including DNS, TCP/IP, Big IP F5, SOA, IBM Data Power.
• Sound troubleshooting skills and ability to identify bottlenecks if any in the middleware architecture and end to end design for the enterprise application.
• Ability to use performance management tools and ability to analyze load testing results to recommend fine tuning values for different middleware components including heap sizes, container settings etc.
• Should be sound in jython, shell scripting etc. and ability to automate install/deployment/
• Ability to work independently and self-motivated is very important.
**Experience with performance management tool like dynaTrace, SOA architecture, IBM DataPower Big IP product like LTM would be a plus too.
