JAVA APPLICATION CONSULTANT- CHAPEL HILL, NC- 6+M

Job Title : Java Application Consultants.
Location  : Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
Duration  : 6 month contract

Skills Profile:

The client is looking for two experienced Java developers to help lead the development of Finance web applications. They will be responsible for creating,

implementing, and maintaining technical application solutions for the Finance conversion of existing java applications to interface with the new PeopleSoft Finance

system.

The developers should be able to work on projects both individually and in a team setting, and develop application initiatives of medium to advanced complexity.
They will consult with fellow developers and business analysts to determine business and programming needs and then develop and implement the technical requirements

using a rapid development approach.
They will communicate status updates to management, and will interact with other developers to coordinate and collaborate on projects from briefing to final closing.
Developers will be participating in project planning and Testing/QA planning meetings.
The selected candidates will work with existing functional, technical and customer team members to document requirements, propose solutions and to ensure solutions

integrate with UNC desired processes.
The selected candidate will be transferring knowledge to UNC Security Staff throughout the project
The contractor is expected to work a 40 hour week Monday through Friday (8 Hours per day) or Monday through Thursday (10 hours per day).  Local candidates should

expect to work Monday through Friday.

The following technical skills are required:
Two years business application consulting or development experience to include developing in Java, JSPs, and Struts.
Working knowledge of UNIX, Oracle 10g, SQL, Glassfish, Netbeans, ANT, and Subversion or other similar version control system.
Additionally a broad foundation in the software development and implementation lifecycle and proven problem solving and decision-making skills for complex problems.
Strong organization skills; ability to multi-task and attention to detail. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment with general direction.
Communicates clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Can establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Highly motivated, independent, and responsible.
Excellent customer service skills desired.

Candidates should be available by 6/11/12. We anticipate the duration of the work to be a minimum of six months.
